Meet Ray DuCasse - Passages volunteer
I guess we all have our reasons for joining TNWoU. In 1993 I attended a business seminar at a big hotel which was a promotion for a particular brand of software. The idea was to supplement your income by using a computer. I was just phasing out of my own residential remodeling business and looking for something to do in my spare time when I retired. I was mistaken about the spare time and the money never did come rolling in either, but the MAC computer got me hooked on Macs. I had the latest one with a 40MG hard drive and 3 1/2” floppy drive. It was not only a challenge to learn a new tool at age 65 but a new experience which I enjoyed immensely. A good friend of mine gave me an issue of Passages and the rest is history.
The first meeting I attended was in the Sheraton by Arlington Pk. I was so impressed that I signed up at my first visit. On my second visit I signed on to Passages and have been with them ever since. In case you have ever wondered about being a volunteer, let me tell you, you will make new friends and really get a lot more out of helping others than just sitting there thinking “what good is this for ME?” My lifelong hobby of photography has now gone digital and my new Imac is like ‘in orbit’ compared to the computers of 20 years ago. I am learning something new every month and with the internet, my other hobby of humor and jokes is unlimited.
We need many more volunteers to help us keep your user group running strong. Please consider helping the group. It is so easy and you don't have to commit hours and hours of time. Just a little help will be greatly appreciated. Send an email right now to let us know of your willingness to help.
